This is the story of a stray cat who stunned everyone by becoming best friends with a black bear.
The stray showed up at the Folsom City zoo and wildlife refuge one day and decided to make himself at home in the bear cage.
To everyone’s astonishment, the cat seemed unfazed by anything and was eating the bear food that had been left out.
“Once she started coming in here on a daily basis,” senior keeper Jill Faust told KXTV, “we started putting food out for her in the morning as well.”
He was given the moniker “Little Bear” after a while since he was the same hue as the bears and spent the most of his time with them.
“When Sequoia (the bear) goes on a walk through the ‘bear forest,’ his cat buddy often joins him,” the zoo said in a statement to ABC News.
“She rubs up against the walls, and visitors can hear her harsh purr from afar.”
“I believed he was going to be devoured by the bear,” a small youngster stated, expressing his anxiety for the bond.
The two go on walks and lie around together, and while they don’t play physically, their camaraderie is palpable.
The two had been hanging together for several months without incident, implying that they may truly love each other’s company.
